CONDOR X/C SWEEP TO MBL TITLES!
The North County High Condors continued their domination of the Monterey Bay League by successfully defending their league titles Saturday, October 29th at Toro Park.
The Boys and Girls teams won a combined five championships!

The Boys’ Varsity earned their league title by a 35-58 score over second place Alisal. The Condors were paced by league champion Ivan Alfaro who won the varsity race with an excellent time of 15:55 over the three mile course. Manuel Esparza (6th), Miguel
Camarena (8th), Antonio Dorado (9th), Michael Machado (11th) and Michael Palmtag (13th) ran strong races to boost the Condors to the MBL Championship.
The Girls’ Varsity crushed their opposition by a large (21 -79) margin. North County had four runners (Tanya Ferreira, Rebecca Fox, Lindsey Wendt and Stephanie Pritchard)
finish in the top five! Adilene Ruvalcaba, Jasmine Melendez and Patricia Bose finished in the top ten to highlight a terrific team performance.
The three other league titles were earned by the Girls’ JV, the Boys’ JV and the Boys’ Frosh-Soph squads. Congratulations to Head Coaches Gus Ibarra (Boys), Kim O’Malley (Girls) and Assistant Coach Jesse Soliven (Girls) for their great work with our runners!
Both Varsity squads will compete at the CCS Championships on November 12th
at Crystal Springs. The Condor Boys are the defending CCS Champs.

CONDORS CLAIM FIRST EVER BOYS BASKETBALL LEAGUE TITLE

  The North County Boys Varsity Basketball team made school history recently by winning its first ever league championship. The Condors claimed the Monterey Bay League Championship by defeating Seaside, 59-58 on a basket at the buzzer by John Fries. The determination of the Condor team is perhaps best exemplified by the play of Alex Doucet that night. Alex suffered a bloody, broken nose (his second of the year!) in the second quarter, yet returned to the contest to help lead NC to its first Boys championship in the 26 year history of the school. The Condors finished the regular season with a 21- 5 (8-2 in the MBL) record.

   Congratulations to the entire varsity team and Head Coach Mike Deckelmann for their great accomplishment. Special kudos also to the other boys coaches (Jesus Galindo, Fernando Cruz, Jesse Tiscareno and Sammy Perez) who have helped establish a strong basketball program at North County. NMCHS has now won a league championship in every varsity sport.

CCS PLAYOFFS FOR NC WINTER ATHLETES
Three North County teams advanced to the Central Coast Section Playoffs in February.

Congratulations to the MBL Champion Boys Basketball team (Coach Mike Deckelmann),
Boys Varsity Soccer (Coach Sergio Marquez) and
Girls Varsity Basketball (Coach Kevin Martin) for their successful seasons.

In addition, several North County wrestlers (Coach Kelly St. John) qualified for the CCS Wrestling Tournament. A special thank you is in order for all the fine men and women who coached our athletes this Winter Season.
