1.  Know the vehicle code laws which will permit them to safely interact with other users in the HTS.

Pass the vehicle code test with an 85% or higher score.

       

2.  Be able to safely position a vehicle in the traffic pattern to minimize potential for collision by applying the 2-3 second following distance rule..

Observed in the driver training vehicle and described in written form in the classroom or demonstrate in a one on one situation with instructor. (Oral/demo)

       

3.  Be able to negotiate right-of-way situations properly and safely.

Observed in the driver training session and through testing in the classroom or demonstrate in a one on one stituation with the instructor. (written/oral/demo)

       

4.  Be able to locate and read all dials and gauges on the instrument panel and correctly identify and use all the pedals and handles.

Observed in the driver training vehicle and sign-off sheet from parents.

       

5.  Must accumulate at least 60% of possible points.
