The specialized vocabulary, record keeping and sales presentation expectations of every industry are emphasized. Examples include units in quality personal presentation in the Hospitality, Business, and High Tech industry classes.

LIFE-LONG LEARNERS FOR RESPONSIBLE ADULT LIFE AND EFFECTIVE EMPLOYMENT.
Construction to Nursing, most programs provide articulation with local and regional Technical, Junior College and Apprenticeship training, with the expectation that skills will require continuous improvement.
CRITICAL, CREATIVE THINKERS AND PROBLEM SOLVERS.
Practical standards are required in all classes. Auto and Computer Repair, Interior Design, and Business Entrepreneurship especially require solutions to real world problems.
SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE AND TOLERANT INDIVIDUALS.
Specific careers in Fire & Police as well as Nursing are obvious but all programs emphasize integrity and team skills for success on the job.

TRACKING PROGRESS
Completion tracking and employment training contacts with our graduates is a yearly, required responsibility of each program instructor. That data is reported to the state, and shared with instructors and our advisory groups annually for modification of our curriculum and standards.

SUPPORT SYSTEMS
Students with basic skills deficits are often terrifically motivated to stay in our particular classes. We refer them to regular academic support resources on campus. In addition, we have many mixed, advanced and beginner classes, and remind students of the apprenticeship model that enhances skills in both mentor and trainee. We also use several aides in especially rich and dangerous learning situations.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Every instructor attends industry specific conferences and certification opportunities to maintain high level skills. Our greatest needs for ongoing improvement are in differentiated instruction, supply budgets and security solutions

COMMUNICATION
Twice yearly Advisory Council meeting reviewing our curriculum and industry needs are required by the state. We will increase parent contact and participation through class survey and calls to solicit participation and support from local representatives.
